I finally bought G�del, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas R. Hofstadter today, something I can't help but feel I should have done years ago. I'm sure it will prove to be an interesting read ? it seems to be a subject of much popular acclaim especially among people of the hacker persuasion. I was also hoping to pick up a copy of The Golden Compass/Northern Lights, the first part of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series which was recommended to me, but unfortunately Akademibokhandeln Nordstan seemed to have run out of copies. They do have a 4-for-3 sale on paperbacks at the moment though, so if you happen to live in Gothenburg, go check it out.
